Zingerman’s

Zingerman’s

It seems there is nothing that Zingerman’s can’t do. Bread is baked fresh and delivered piping hot about 6 times every day from the Zingerman’s Bakehouse, and the salads and side dishes are made fresh daily. They roast their own coffee, make their own candy, and make their own cheeses and gelatos from local ingredients at their own creamery.
What started in 1982 as a small deli offering specialty and Jewish foods has grown into an empire. While the deli itself remains local (it is not franchised outside of Ann Arbor), they do a large mail-order business, offer baking classes, operate international food tours and run business consulting seminars.
Sandwiches are not cheap—they run between $10-$15 each. But they are large, filling, and the quality of ingredients is superb. Seating is offered outside on the patio and at Zingerman’s Next Door, where you can purchase coffees, teas, pastries, pies and gelato.

Zingerman’s featured in the November 2003 and November 2008 editions of Food & Wine Magazine
