Babcock Hall Dairy Store

The Babcock Hall Dairy Store is home to the University of Wisconsin’s very own campus-made ice cream. Built in 1951, it is the oldest University dairy plant store in the United States. Aside from the regular chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, other standard flavors include orange custard chocolate chip, mint fudge marble and blue moon (bright blue berry ice cream). Feature flavors are sometimes pumpkin cream pie and Berry Alvarez, named after the UW Althetic Director (berry ice cream with swirls of raspberry, strawberry and blueberry pieces). The Dairy Store also sells campus made cheeses, ice cream sandwiches, frozen yogurt and sherbets.
