Get ready for a weekend of dancing and patriotism as the Marching Illini performs a dual dad’s day show and an America show at the Illinois vs. Minnesota game Nov. 10.

Keeping up with the dad’s day tradition that was started in 1976 with Professor Emeritus Gary Smith, the dads of members of the Marching Illini will join the band on the field for the halftime show. For the first tune, the dads will dance on the field to a patriotic medley. Following this dance, the Marching Illini will perform three additional patriotic tunes, including God Bless America and Living in America, which will feature the Illinettes and the flags.

“The audience should look for a number of patriotic formations, including the outline of the United States and stars,” said Professor Barry Houser, director of the Marching Illini.

The band will end halftime with the classic Three-In-One.
