Visit the Downtown Evanston Farmer’s Market before the Homecoming Game this Saturday, October 27, and experience Fall Fest 2012! Amongst the regular Farmer’s Market, full of local organic fruits, vegetables, flowers, artisan cheeses, baked goods, cooking demonstrations and tastings, the market will also boast some fun fall festivities. For the kids, there will be free arts and crafts activities, mini-pumpkin decorating. Kids under 11 who come in their Halloween costume will receive a free goodie bag, as well. The whole family can take part in celebrating Arts and Humanities Month by chipping in to paint a mural that will hang in the Early Childhood rooms at Robert Crown Center.

The Downtown Evanston Farmer’s Market and Fall Fest 2012 takes place at the intersection of University Place and Oak Ave. between 7:30am-1pm.

Mural painting takes place between 9am-12pm.

Admission is free.

About: Heather Blackmon-doForno

As a member of the Ohio State University Marching Band, I quickly grew to appreciate the dedication and pride each Big Ten Marching Band exhibits, as well as the traditions, history and culture of each school they represent. Being a passionate world traveler, my trips to Big Ten schools have always involved an effort to go beyond the game, scoping out the best local places to eat, delving into local history, viewing the campus architecture and learning about quirky folklore.
