Game Day Food Vendors at Ohio State

Whether you’re roaming High Street, browsing food trucks in the tailgate area or eating inside of the stadium, game day food vendors at Ohio State are nothing short of mouth-watering. From fried chicken to fresh fruit smoothies, you can get whatever your taste buds are craving. If you are going to the Buckeye state to cheer on OSU or your favorite visiting team, here are a few vendors you can go to for some game day grub:

Roosters Wings: This place is pretty popular around Columbus and has some seriously amazing, quality chicken wings and a great selection of sauces. Appetizers such as mac n’ cheese bites, nachos and fried pickles are also some hits. You can find them either in a food truck outside of Ohio Stadium or at one of their various locations throughout Columbus on game day.

Strawberry Fields Sandwiches: This is a hidden gem. Normally located on Lane Avenue, in close proximity to the game, is this food stand. The stand will grill the fresh ingredients for sandwiches right in front of you. You can make your sandwich as weird or as normal as you want with the toppings of your choice. It is a great place for a filling meal before the game! Also, located next to the stand, you can sometimes find fresh fruit smoothies.

Varsity Club: This is a great food location and bar to go to before the game. It is located on Lane Avenue right by Ohio Stadium. It has hot subs, excellent pizza, burgers and hot dogs fresh off the grill, and a great scarlet and grey environment to top it off.

Bob Evans: Headquartered in Ohio, it is no wonder that Bob Evans is an official food vendor in Ohio Stadium. The company’s excellent hotdogs, burgers, and brats are all for sale inside the stadium, but if you can’t wait to get inside, visit the food truck in the tailgate area outdoors.

Eddie George’s Grille 27: Right on High Street, Eddie George’s is in the center of the Ohio State action. Eddie George’s has literally anything you could want before or while cheering on the Buckeyes, so if you are with a group of picky eaters, this is a great place to go. Not to mention it has a great beer selection that you can enjoy while watching the game on one of the many screens if you don’t have tickets.

Raising Cane’s: This is a favorite place among Ohio State students and is certainly packed on game days. The signature “Cane’s Sauce” compliments Cane’s fried chicken fingers perfectly. Served with Texas toast and crinkle-cut fries, it is a hardy meal that will leave your stomach full and your taste buds satisfied.

These are only a few of the places that you can eat at while going to the ‘Shoe. Be sure to wander around as well, as Columbus is one of the best spots for food in the nation, so there are always new vendors popping up all over campus and around the city. You won’t leave Columbus feeling hungry!
