WHERE TO BUY FOOD & DRINK FOR YOUR TAILGATE:

Fat Jack’s Bar-B-Que Shack and Bottle Shop

State College, PA 16803

A strip mall in front of Wal-Mart  might not be the place you’d expect to find good  BBQ, but this place is worth checking out. The menu is simple, including ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket and wings with sides of fries, onion rings, coleslaw, baked beans and potato salad. It’s easy to find: the large smoker sits outside the front door, and it is attached to a Bottle Shop where you can load up on beer for your tailgate. Call ahead to place a carry out order for your tailgate.

Call ahead to place an order for pick-up (either from the restaurant or from the stand outside the stadium on game day), or visit the stand outside the stadium on game day to load up for your tailgate. Prospector’s will also deliver orders of $100 or more straight to your tailgate.

Seltzers Lebanon Bologna
The Seltzer family has been making their traditional Pennsylvania Dutch bologna, rooted in Germany, since 1902. The recipe and the procedure for making the bologna have not changed a bit since then. Seltzers is a local delicacy that will be a great addition to your tailgate deli trays. Pick it up at Weis Markets or Wal-mart in the deli section.

Prior to each home game, the Blue Band meets for a short morning rehearsal. In addition to the Blue Band, the pre-game show also features performances by the Lionettes, Cheerleaders and the Nittany Lion. The show concludes with a guest drum major leading the Blue Band from TailGreat to Beaver Stadium.

Doors to the Bryce Jordan Center open 3 hours prior to kick-off. The Blue Band arrives to start the festivities 2 hours prior to kick-off. Concessions are open inside the Bryce Jordan Center. You may also purchase some PSU Creamery Ice Cream outside the door and bring it in with you.
