Columbus was once dubbed the "Fast Food Capital of the World" by the New York Times and Wall Street Journal (Wendy’s and White Castle are both headquartered here), and Anthony Bourdain caused an uproar on his Travel Channel show No Reservations when he referred to Columbus as the land of “strip malls” and “Applebee’s." Contrary to the stereotype, the dining scene here is diverse and thriving. Being that Columbus is a large city, the choices are plentiful and evolving. However, there are many beloved staples in the community, as well as outstanding newcomers that we list here.
