Sunken Gardens

Developed in 1930, Sunken Gardens is the only Nebraska garden listed in the “300 Best Gardens to Visit in the United States and Canada” by National Geographic Guide to Public Gardens. The 1.5 acre garden features a Healing Garden, Perennial Garden and Annual Garden. Each spring, the Annual Garden’s 30,000 individual plants bloom with a different theme. A fairly new winery, WunderRosa opened in 2009 with four wines. Today, they make 10, and are still growing. Take a wine trail tour and enjoy live music. Order a sausage, cheese, and French bread plates to accompany your wine and take a seat in the tasting room or on the patio.

Since 1923, Memorial Stadium has been the home of University of Nebraka-Lincoln’s football team, the Huskers. 1923, Named Memorial Stadium to honor all Nebraskans who served in the Nation’s wars (check out the inscriptions on the four corners of the stadium). With a current capacity of 81,067, the historic stadium also possesses one of the largest replay screens in the nation.
Self guided tours are available daily 8am-8pm, with limited field access, at Gate 24 (when no teams are practicing). Download a walking tour brochure online, or pick one up at Gate 20.
