A tour of Nebraska’s unique 400-foot tall capitol building provides an opportunity to observe beautiful sculptures and artwork while learning about its history. The Nebraska capitol is the tallest building in Lincoln and the second tallest state capitol (after Louisiana that based their design off Nebraska’s). It is also the heaviest capitol building in all of North America and would cost an estimated $1 billion to rebuild.

Governor’s Mansion

First opened in 1958, the 31 room mansion is the official residence of the Governor of Nebraska. The Georgian Colonial home was recently modified in 1997 and is open to the public for tours. Across from the beautiful Nebraska Capitol, the Governor’s mansion houses Governor Dave Heinemen and his wife Sally Ganem.
